Stevens Point swept the meet with 138.325 total points, Ashland claimed second with 133.150; Marshfield third at 131.700, Antigo fourth on the day with 130.175 points and Wisconsin Rapids fifth with 126.400.

    Hooked up in fast paced game, the Antigo High School boys hockey team fought back from an early deficit to send Thursday's exciting WIAA regional game with Bayport into overtime but ended up a few glides short as the Pirates captured a 4-3 win. The Robins finished its season at 18-7 overall while Bayport climbed to 16-9 and will now visit Green Bay Notre Dame Tuesday.

    The state's School Choice Program, which has provided tuition vouchers to allow parents to send their children to private schools in the Milwaukee and Racine areas for years, is expanding into Antigo. Peace Lutheran School is among 163 private nonsectarian and religious schools and school systems that registered with the Department of Public Instruction by the Jan. 10 deadline to accept students for the next school year.

    This has truly been a season in the making for the Red Robin wrestling team as it has seen several great accomplishments this year but nothing will compare to Saturday's WIAA Division 2 Regional tournament. Hosting the event, Antigo finished the day with 229.0 team points, more than enough to position them in first place taking the Regional team title, something that hasn't occured in 34 years.
