    Take 38 high school track and field teams - more than 900 athletes total - add coaches, parents, siblings, friends, officials and anybody else who just happened to stumble in off the street, and cram them all into a giant dome in Alaska. While that sounds like a recipe for disaster for some of us, the whole thing actually went smoothly and the noise never rose above a dull roar.

    Any veteran on the Kenai Peninsula can get free transportation to the VA medical clinic in Kenai or outpatient clinic in Homer, as well as any VA-authorized vendors, like pharmacies, hospitals and medical specialists. Forest Powell, with the Alaska Office of Veterans Affairs, says it even counts for trips to Anchorage, if the local VA refers a vet to a doctor in the city.
