    Bryan J. Mosher, 24, of Amsterdam, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Troopers detected the odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle during a traffic stop on Route 30. A search of the vehicle revealed THC/marijuana oil, containing less than 25 grams, and about 1.5 grams of cocaine, police said.

    A committee at Fonda-Fultonville Central School District recommends a safer, cleaner type of athletic field be installed as part of a capital project, official said. The Board of Education could vote Feb. 22 on whether to use the cryogenic rubber overlay for the new athletic field, which would add about $28,000 to the projected cost of $1.5 million for the construction.

    The family of a Schenectady County teenager who was killed when the vehicle she was riding in collided with a flatbed truck last year is suing the truck's driver and the company that owns it. Katrina and Shawn Warrick of Rotterdam Junction filed the lawsuit in state Supreme Court on Jan. 16. As administrators of the estate of their daughter, Ashley C. Warrick, they are alleging Gary Carpenter of Johnstown and his employer, Vern's Auto Body & Sales of Amsterdam, were "careless, reckless and negligent" at the time of the crash.
