The parking lot of the new Ikea logistics center in American Canyon will not likely be this empty again, once the facility opens next month, since it will operate 10 to 18 hours seven days per week.

    A San Jose man accused of attacking a California Highway Patrol officer on westbound Interstate 80 near the American Canyon off-ramp in June was ordered Wednesday to stand trial on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder of a peace officer. During a two-day probable cause hearing, two motorists described what happened to them as they were driving on the freeway on the morning of June 17. Both recalled having their cars rammed from behind, causing them to spin out of control and crash west of Fairfield.
