    Amarillo firefighters responded to an early morning fire on Monday that caused minimal damage to a home on the 4300 block of South Polk Street. According to the Amarillo Fire Department, firefighters received a call at about 2:50 a.m. Within minutes, six firefighter units were on-scene at 4340 S. Polk St. Fire officials reported that the fire was under control just after 3 a.m. Three people were in the home when the fire started.

    A Thai food delivery driver was assaulted and robbed Monday evening after attempting to make a delivery to the apartments at 1500 S. Bell St. On Aug. 10, at about 9:30 p.m. Amarillo Police Department officers responded to a call on a robbery that had just occurred. According to APD, when the delivery driver arrived at the complex and went to get the food he was to deliver out of his vehicle, he was approached by a black male who pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and demanded money.

    According to the Amarillo Police Department , officers responded to a one vehicle accident that was originally dispatched as a motor vehicle striking a pedestrian at about 7:45 a.m. on Aug. 9. Upon arrival, APD officers found that a red 2008 Cadillac and had wrecked into a traffic signal support pole after driving into the oncoming lane and onto the sidewalk, according to witnesses. The wreck happened at the intersection of 6th St. and Harrison Ave. According to APD, both the driver and the passenger were injured and a third man, who was a pedestrian, was also injured when the vehicle hit the pole sending parts of the car flying.
