    Fairfax County Police announced Friday they have charged 51-year-old Fadwa Sarsaur of Alexandria with three counts of embezzlement, and that she turned herself in to authorities Friday afternoon. Police believe Sarsaur stole large sums of money over a three-year period from Baileys Elementary in the Falls Church section of the county.

    Attorneys for General Assembly Republicans are filing a lawsuit against Governor Terry McAuliffe's order to restore the political rights of more than 206,000 convicted felons. The six Virginia voters including Williams J. Howell and Senate majority leader Thomas K. Norment, Jr. , who filed the lawsuit, are asking the Virginia Supreme Court to issue a writ of mandamus against the Governor, the Secretary of the Commonwealth, the Board of Elections and the Department of Election commanding the Commonwealth's registrar not to register the felons due to the order and to cancel all invalid registrations.

    Police say the incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday when the trooper was on a traffic stop on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 495 near Exit 173 in Alexandria. Police say during the traffic stop a Dodge Charger ran off the road and struck the trooper's patrol car.

    The nearly 50-foot-long remains of the ship's hull were found after construction workers began working on the new Indigo Hotel at 220 South Union Street, 8News affiliate WJLA reports. Francine Bromberg, the city's archaeologist, believes it's only about one third of the hull of a vessel.
