    A passenger died Tuesday afternoon in Licking County when the car he was riding in failed to stop at a stop sign, the State Highway Patrol said. The two-car crash was reported shortly before 5 p.m. on Concord Road near the intersection of Northridge Road in Liberty Township, the patrol said.

    Voters in Alexandria will decide in May whether to dissolve the village or retain local governance of their 187-year-old community. The Village Council voted Monday to place the un-incorporation issue on the ballot, following discussion over whether to do it May 8 or during next year's general election, said Mayor Andy Hallam.

    The former fiscal officer for the village of Alexandria was sentenced to four years in prison Monday after pleading no contest to using her position to steal more than $167,000 in public funds. Laura VanScoy Andrews, 49, of Utica, received two years for tampering with records and two more for theft in office, with the terms to be served consecutively.
