    The body pulled Sunday evening from a branch of the thawing Kuskokwim River has been positively identified as that of Sally Stone, the 27-year-old woman lost under the ice since December, Alaska State Troopers said Wednesday. Stone, her boyfriend George Evan, and Ralph "Jimmy" Demantle were riding on a single four-wheeler from Bethel to Akiak when they slipped into an open hole in the ice on Kuskokuak Slough.

    Searchers from the village of Kwethluk on Sunday evening pulled the body of a young woman out of an open lead in the thawing ice of a branch of the Kuskokwim River, ending one of the longest and largest searches in memory, according to the village public safety officer. The remains appear to be those of Sally Stone, 27, the third member of a trio killed when their four-wheeler went through the ice in December on a trip from Bethel to Akiak, Alaska State Troopers said Monday.

Meanwhile, searchers from Bethel, Kwethluk, Akiak, Akiachak, Atmautluak, Napakiak, Napaskiak, and the Alaska State Troopers continue to drag an open lead of ice-free Kuskokwim River and under river ice where the body of one of the missing, Ralph "Jimmy" Demantle, 51, was recovered on Dec. 14. Searchers are hoping to find the bodies of two other missing travelers, 26 year-old George Evan, and 27 year-old Sally Stone, both of Akiak.
