    Compelled to respond to a report alleging he struck his father in the face more than 32 years ago, U.S. Senate hopeful Darryl Glenn said he doesn't remember every detail of the incident because "when you grow up in a violent home, the fights, the screaming, the pain all blur together." In an email to the media Wednesday night, Glenn explained that he was trying to stop his father from beating his mother on the night of Nov. 20, 1983, in their Colorado Springs home.

Get a grip! What is the primary reason to have service academies? I believe it is to educate and train men and women to become military officers.

Maj. Alex Turner of Chelmsford, Massachusetts had just flown over the crowd watching President Barack Obama's commencement address June 2. In an audio recording between air traffic controllers in Colorado Springs and the Air Force's elite flying team, Turner said his jet was having engine problems.

City sales tax collections in June, which measure activity in May, rose 5.6 percent from June 2015 to $12.1 million, according to a report from the city's Finance Department.
