    Heaven gained another angel on November 14, 2014.  Loving husband, father and grandfather, Arnold Frederick Jefford, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.  Born September 20, 1947 in Watertown, NY, son of Frederick and Muriel Jefford.  Buz attended Mannsville Manor Central School.  He served in the United States Navy from 1964-1968 and obtained the rank of BT2.  While serving in the Navy he received a Stationary Engineering degree.  After his discharge, he was employed by Fulton Boiler Works until 1970, at which time he began his career at the House of the Good Samaritan.  In 2006, after 35 years of service, he retired as the Director of Plant Operations and Maintenance.

    Jefferson County legislators Wednesday voted to override the state's 2 percent property tax cap by an 11-3 vote and approved a $260 million spending plan for 2015 that calls for a 4.09 percent increase in the tax levy. Legislators Patrick R. Jareo, R-Ellisburg, Robert D. Ferris, R-Watertown, and Anthony J. Doldo, R-Watertown, voted against overriding the tax cap.

Soluri, 35, of 16823 Comstock Road, was arrested by Oswego County sheriff's deputies in the town of Orwell, Oswego County, at 9:20 a.m. Monday for allegedly failing to report a change in address and to mail in an annual verification form, both Class E felonies under the state's sex offender registry. Deputies said he relocated from his Adams address to his current residence in the town of Orwell, but they provided no further details.

During an altercation with another teenager on the bus, police said the suspect threw the victim's backpack outside the rear emergency exit.
