    For the last several days the Aberdeen Police Department has received numerous reports of bear sightings, primarily in the northeast areas of our community and members of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife have been assisting with the monitoring of these bears. Aberdeen Police says that this time of year it is common for bears to wonder into populated areas in search of a food source prior to their winter hibernation and they asking citizens to remove potential food sources from their yards such as downed fruit, fruits still on a tree, and bird feeders.
