On opening day, owners Scott and Deirdre Colleen Dawson were swamped with customers eager to try the extensive menu which featured fish and chips, shepherd's pie, bangers and mash and numerous other dishes not previously offered in this area, including "Grandmother Downing's chocolate pudding," a family recipe handed down through the family from the same Downings for whom Downing Street in England was named.
