Eight years of advocacy for a permanent shelter in the Tri-Cities to replace our over-the-winter mat-based program was rewarded in mid-December, 2015 when the 3030 Gordon Ave. facility opened its doors to the Tri-Cities' homeless.

The 34-year-old is accused of stabbing 65-year-old Robert Harold Vidovich in the parking lot of Shaughnessy Square Shopping Centre long Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam on Aug. 7. "The public had seen him and then contacted the police unbeknownst to Mr. Meanny and then the police were able to locate him and take him into custody, much to his surprise," said Foster, who said he was in a building at the time. "The terms of the arrest are still part of the investigation and it's before the courts, so we have to maintain the integrity of it," she said.
