    Just as The Neighborhood Developers celebrated its 40th year in existence, the Chelsea-based organization that has a major presence in Revere now also announced its new Director Rafael Mares at a celebration function on May 31. Mares is a Revere resident and will replace 15-year Director Ann Houston - who will be moving on to a new collaboration project between TND and Nuestra Comunidad in Roxbury. Houston was also honored at the event May 31. Mares has been working at the Conservation Law Foundation in the fields of housing, environmental justice and transportation - often working in the Chelsea, Revere, Everett area that TND serves.

Hayes, 49, of 48 Conant St., was arrested on charges of breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony and illegal possession of a Class A controlled narcotic substance. A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested on two outstanding warrants and on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assault and battery upon a police officer, and trespassing.

    Boston's Wounded Veterans Run is proud to announce its eighth annual motorcycle charity ride on Sunday, May 20, to help raise money to help four New England veterans who were recently severely injured in overseas combat. The 28-mile ride begins at Harley-Davidson in Revere at 1 p.m., with registration starting as early as 8:30 a.m., and ends at Suffolk Downs in East Boston at 2:30 p.m. Cost per person, rider and passenger is $20.
