    According to the latest report flying around the rumor mill the revered BMW M division has decided hybrid powertrains are the future and thus will act accordingly in the near future. Dirk Hacker, BMW M's vice-president for engineering, allegedly confirmed the upcoming high-performance vehicles from the brand will switch to hybrid powertrains - the technology is envisioned both as a means of dropping the CO2 levels and also as the next level in terms of increasing performance and making the M models more responsive.
