Carleau Mesidor, 39, was convicted Friday morning after he pleaded no contest to one felony count of animal abuse after accepting a plea deal in court.

The Humane Society says that 38-year-old Chris Duval was the alleged owner of Zeus, a male Pitbull found at his residence at about 10:45 a.m. on March 18. This discovery came after a search warrant, which involved a separate matter, was executed by state police at Duval's residence at 580 County Road 26. They say Zeus was reportedly found lying on a bare, feces-covered floor, and had an eye protruding from its socket, which they say was because of an untreated and neglected mass in his head.
