Why Christian musicians are embarking on a different kind of world tour. Mark Moring posted 11/13/2009 09:35AM I n the late 1970s, the holy rockers of the nascent Jesus music movement distinguished themselves from their mainstream counterparts even further with one radical step: They discovered social justice.

War. Floods. Devastation. Paranoia. Political upheaval. Through it all, there is hope.

After a five-year hiatus, the long-running quartet Phish reformed earlier this year, culminating in a new release and subsequent 27-date national tour including headline spots at the Bonnaroo Music Festival and a four-night run at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver.

Many Atlanta artists filled the bill on October 10th in Alpharetta--not the least of which was metro Atlanta based and Grammy- and Dove-award winning Christian Band, Third Day.
