Gospel Festival To Brighten Rainy Day
Rain may be pouring on Friday, but Millennium Park will be brightened up when the 24th Annual Gospel Festival begins Friday afternoon.
The festival begins at 4 p.m. Friday at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.
Among the performers appearing Friday are Atlanta Christian rapper Canton Jones, who appears at 8:10 p.m., and the Rance Allen Group, a vocal and instrumental ensemble from Detroit that has been performing for four decades.
Locally-based gospel star Darius Brooks will appear with the Tommies Reunion Choir at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, while the Mighty Clouds of Joy - a veteran group that bills itself as the world's best selling Gospel quintet - will appear at 8:45 p.m.
