News that the U.S. Postal Service intends to close Erie's mail-sorting facility by April 18, 2015, isn't a surprise. The Postal Service originally wanted to close the Erie General Mail Facility at 2108 E. 38th St. in 2011, but Erie's center got a reprieve.

Area post offices get reprieve from hours reduction
WASHINGTON Thirty post offices in the Bakken region will maintain their hours as promised by the U.S. Postal Service last spring. Sen.
