I really enjoy Lumberjack days, but the highlight of going to Stillwater is shopping the Midtown Antique Mall. It's fabulous!

Just another way to pad the pockets of Dave Eckberg, who often says he doesn't make money off the events. Longtime local, will not see me and other locals paying to see bands play. It use to be free until Dave wanted to make more money.

There are also our Sixth Annual Lumberjack Days Chess Tournaments at Pioneer Park on Saturday. There is a tournament for experienced players and one for novices. Novices vie for trophies while experienced players compete for cash prizes. Registration is at 8 am and the awards ceremony is at about 2:30. More info at www.lumberjackdays.com
