A Topeka gospel group whose roots run more than 50 years deep will present a concert Saturday night featuring several of the area's top artists.

Lamanuel Boykin, formerly of Clinton but now residing in Rieglewood, and the singing group Lamanuel Boykin and Company will have a musical scholarship program fundraisiing Friday, May 24 at the Union Missionary Baptist Church in Wilmington.

The 28th Chicago Gospel Music Festival, presented by The Black McDonald's Operators Association and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events is June 20-23. Once again the Bronzeville neighborhood, the birthplace of Gospel music, will serve as the festival's main home with the weekend portion of the festival featuring two stages of ... (more)
