Artists turn string instruments into art for Philharmonic auction

Eight local artists have painted, textured, decoupaged, rhinestoned, sliced, smashed and added elements to seven violins and a cello to create the art for "7.5 on the String Scale," an auction benefit for the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, which is celebrating its 75 anniversary this season.
