Sunset Jazz at Newport, featuring straight- ahead jazz performed by top jazz performers, begins July 10 and will continue through ll nights, concluding Sept.

The Smoot Theatre will present its final performance of the 2012-2013 season when The Four Freshmen take the stage at 8 p.m. May 11 at 213 Fifth St.

Keystone College in La Plume will host a presentation by Priit Vesilind, a senior writer and expeditions editor for National Geographic magazine, at 7 p.m. today.

Like the jazz it celebrates, the Thornapple Arts Council has improvised its way to making each of its annual Jazz Festivals bigger and better, louder and more delightful than the year before - for 10 straight years.
