'The Beatles' mono catalog returns to vinyl LP

In one sense, Tuesday's release of the complete mono catalog of the Beatles on vinyl LPs is the most technologically ambitious attempt yet to take what is arguably the most significant body of recorded music in the pop era and do ... absolutely nothing. 'This is a lot different than many other projects,' said Steve Berkowitz, the lead producing engineer on the 14-LP 'The Beatles in Mono' set.

The Fab Four at Pearson Park in Anaheim CA, tonight

When it comes to the granddaddy of all tribute bands the first name that comes to mind is The Fab Four - The Ultimate Tribute! Others may argue the Broadway show "BEATLEMANIA" should be noted as the granddaddy of Beatles tributes, but that show was a Broadway stage production. The Fab Four is an entirely different experience.

Sheridan Smith: Playing Cilla Black is the closest I'll get to being a pop star

On a chilly April morning, WLTV is on location in Merseyside to watch the filming of ITV's eagerly awaited mini-series about Liverpool's favourite daughter Dozens of hip young things scream their heads off as The Beatles take to the stage alongside a familiar female singer with striking red hair... This is Liverpool's famous Cavern Club - Ground Zero for the 1960s Merseybeat music scene, where so many legendary bands - such as the Fab Four, The Hollies and The Searchers - played their early gigs. Balanced on a grand piano is the sheet music for Anyone Who Had A Heart, a Burt Bacharach composition, soon to be covered by the same flame-haired Scouse songbird who performed earlier... Miss Cilla Black.

Wispy 'Hello, Dolly!' is showing its old age

It is an apt coincidence that "Hello, Dolly!" hit Broadway on Jan. 16, 1964 - three weeks before the Beatles landed a few blocks away and blew away the generations with a statement of youth. "Dolly" built its flimsy entertainment on values that even in 1964 cast back over the decades to the days of corsets and ribboned hats, bumbling men and subservient women.
