Tab Benoit opens with a couple of rousing New Orleans-flavored songs, which are, of course, what he does best.

The annual Sioux Falls JazzFest starts this Friday at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls .

Following Hurricane Katrina, Benoit thought a long national conversation would ensue concerning his native south Louisiana, which historically has dealt with floods and natural disasters.
