Tafelmusik's Jeanne Lamon receives lifetime achievement award
In what is likely to be the first of many such honours, Tafelmusik's departing music director Jeanne Lamon was on Thursday awarded the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Toronto Musicians Association, joining such past winners as Gordon Lightfoot, Anne Murray and Stompin' Tom Connors.
Planning is underway for a tribute night to the late Stompin' Tom Connors. It will be held at the Tignish Legion on May 4. Tignish, of course, is close to the Canadian singing legend's boyhood home of Skinner's Pond.
