It's difficult to come to terms with the fact that 15 years have passed since Smash made SoCal skate-punk act The Offspring a crossover sensation, unleashing some of the best punk anthems - Bad Habit, Self-Esteem, Come Out and Play - of the '90s. For some, back in '94, Smash was already the beginning of the end.

The band Splinter from Ottumwa won first place in the ABATE of Iowa Battle of the Bands May 23rd in Algona.
