more drugs & violence
the whole hip hop attitude of gangs, drugs & treating women like slut-s is awful. why go to this horrid affair? |
||||
What a loving, peaceful liberal attitude. I suggest you enter oakland or LA in the black areas and see how much love you get. Idiot. |
||||

Are the 3 young black men with 9mm pistols and bandanas on their faces that always do the home invasion robberies in Humboldt going to be there?
|
||||
You just need a vehicle that looks like it could be Law Enforcement and they'll all hide behind the corners in those areas when you drive by, no problems. |
||||
...That is cold.Damn funny but cold brother. |

Snoop is cool. And there is no discussing it.

Wikipedia:
Early life Broadus was born in Long Beach, California, the son of Beverly Tate and Vernell Varnado, who was a singer and postal worker.[1] His mother nicknamed him "Snoopy" as a child because of the way he dressed.[2] At an early age, he began singing in Golgotha Trinity Baptist Church and playing piano; when he was in sixth grade, he began rapping.[3][4] Snoop Dogg attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School and transferred to Lindhberg High School and was later convicted for cocaine trafficking and served six months at the Wayside County Jail.[3][5] Snoop Dogg was a member of a local Crips gang in Long Beach.[6] Snoop Dogg's conviction caused him to be in and out of prison for the first three years after he graduated from high school. A great role model for the youth of Humboldt County! |

Considering he went bad and then puled himself out of the dredges to become a millionare...I'd say there are worse roll models out there. if ex addicts can become drug counselors why can't ex gang members become roll models? At least he's been there, done that and can discuss things honestly rather than guessing at them. |

Your racism is nauseating. Check the statistics: FAR MORE white males commit crimes in Humboldt County, you ignorant ASSHOLES!
80% of crimes committed in Humboldt County are committed by WHITE MALES: ww.stats.doj.ca.gov . This figure is about 73% for the State of California. So be racist if you have to, but do the rest of the world a favor and get the FACTS before you go making a damn fool of yourself. Ugh. And it doesn't matter what percentage of melanin anyone has in their skin; music preference is so incredibly subjective that it's ridiculous to assign a genre based on race. I bite my thumb at you people! |

So, after all the hubbub about Snoop Dog and his friend Mr. Marley appearing in concert in Eureka on July 8, WHAT HAPPENED?
Since the afternoon of July 8, there has been NOTHING in the paper on or offline about Snoop, Marley, or their musical apologists for crime. Did they cancel the concert? If they did, why? Did they disappear from the face of earth? Isn't that something the Times-Standard ought to tell us about? Maybe only a handful of fans showed up, demonstrating the lack of commercial viability of Mr. Dog. Shouldn't we - the people who despise rap "music" - be given that information so we can enjoy a good gloating session? Come on! Even the people who pretend to enjoy that noise have been keeping their mouths shut? Why? Was the whole thing a big lie from the beginning? |
|||

I guess the whole story was a fraud. The Times-Standard must have fallen for a hoax story about Snoop Dog and Marley coming to town. Then, when they realized they had been fooled, they must have been too embarassed to own up to it.
What other explanation makes sense? Why else would there be such a lot of hype before the announced concert date and then such total and absolute silence since then? No concert ever happened, obviously. Is there not ONE SINGLE HONEST REPORTER or ONE SINGLE HONEST EDITOR willing to tell the story about the Snoop Dog and Marley concert that didn't happen? |

Still no comment from Snoop Dog fans or from the Times-Standard.
Why the silence, boys and girls? I thought newspapers were in the business of printing the news. Why no news now? |

And my response still stands...if you want to know if the "newspaper" article is a fraud wouldn't it make sense to call and "ASK" the news paper? Common sense is what we are discussing here ya know? |

You don't understand that the Times-Standard monitors this forum of Topix.(Your clue is that this forum is named the "Eureka Times-Standard Forum.") Now that you know that, maybe you will take this opportunity to apologize and then climb down off my back. |

Who cares who "monitors" what? It has nothing to do with my reply. You questioned the validity of a article written in the times standard that utilizes a forum through topix which allows comments from online readers. Common sense says that a call to the times standard (the editor and poster of the article you questioned) would get your question answered. Where does that fail to compute? The only other thing I can assume is that for some childish reason your requiring a public posting/explanation rather than for you to just make a small effort and ask the times standard via telephone about the concert yourself.
And I accessed this through the Ukiah Daily Journal portal. For some reason topix puts the eureka and ukiah stories togther. Your hint is I see the ukiah daily journal at the top and access it via the ukiahdailyjournal.com url. Thank you for your imput. |
