Actor Shuler Hensley, who plays the Critic in "The Guardsman" in its run at the Eisenhower Theater for the next month, is one of those rare actors who is never idle.

Because of a tie vote, the judges for the 2013 Obie Awards, announced on Monday night, chose two winners for best new American play: Lisa D'Amour's dark comedy "Detroit" and Julia Jarcho's triptych "Grimly Handsome." Other Obies included playwriting awards for Annie Baker and Ayad Akhtar for "Disgraced," which won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

"Dogfight," "The Piano Lesson," and "The Whale" took home the top awards for best musical, best revival, and best play at the 2013 Lucille Lortel Awards, which were presented in a ceremony at NYU's Skirball Center on Sunday night.

Tony Award winners Billy Crudup and Shuler Hensley will join Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewar t in the limited season repertoire of Harold Pinter 's No Man's Land and Samuel Beckett 's Waiting for Godot, directed by Sean Mathias , on Broadway at the Cort Theatre, 138 West 48th Street, this fall.

Off-Broadway theatre company Playwrights Horizons holds its annual spring gala May 6 at the event space 583 Park Avenue.
