In his day job as the Promise Hero's guitarist, Daniel Eli Weiss plays Saves the Day-style pop-punk. On his solo debut, he sounds like Elliott Smith.
Sounds like ... a more melodic version of emo-tinged punk-pop bands like Boys Like Girls, The Starting Line, The Academy Is ..., and Saves the Day.
