QUESTION: In the late 1960s, I remember a TV production that was a dramatization of the trial of a prison camp commander during the Civil War.

A 'Tension'-filled afternoon in store at the Pratt Library

Tension, a rarely seen film noir classic starring Richard Basehart, Barry Sullivan, Cyd Charisse , Audrey Totter and William Conrad, will be shown for free tomorrow at the Enoch Pratt Free Library as part of the 'Rare Reels: The Best Films You've Never Seen' series. Directed by John Berry, who would later fall victim to Hollywood's '50s-era blacklist, the 1949 film is the story of a druggist who plots to kill his two-timing wife, but whose plans get waylaid when he falls in love with another woman, and someone else kills the guy his wife's been fooling around with.
