Not long before Patrick Swayze died, I watched Dirty Dancing, partly for fun and partly searching for an answer to a pretty callous question: why was I oddly upset about Swayze's terminal cancer when not only was he a stranger, but an average actor whose only real hits, Ghost and Dirty Dancing, were 20 years ago? Harsh, yes.
