How an Aussie kid named Keith Urban became a big country music star in America

I liked Keith's music several years ago. The most recent songs appear to be simple lyrics and do not seem to have involved a lot of effort to create. Keith is talented and I had hoped for more of the good songs when he was emotionally imbalanced. Maybe, happiness interferes with his abililty to be a good songwriter. Does anyone agree with me?

I have to say that I'm not that thrilled with this one as well. There are a few good songs, but will say that I personally feel his other recordings have been more soulful. I think this one is perhaps too over produced sounding.. maybe that's the right word? I'm glad he's happy though. I'd trade happiness at whatever price for emotional imbalance for sure! I suspect most all artists however, whether balanced or not, have only so many good one's in them. Or perhaps more accurately, to have to write under pressure. Record companies have contracts with artists so just imagine HAVING to write songs in a certain time frames and for YEARS. Six, four, whatever it is. That must be difficult pressure to be under to say the least. I wish him well and good health and lots of happiness and most imp. good balance and to stay clean. He's done an amazing job!
