Beginning Thursday, Sparky's Burgers, Barbeque & Espresso, 115 Franklin St., in Hatch, will kick off its National Blues Festival Month with a series of blues concerts.

The Monday night blues series at Time Out Pub, 275 Main St., continues Monday, March 18, from 7 to 10 p.m. with Mississippi Heat.

The lineup for the 20th annual edition of RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest ranges from Skrillex to B.B. King, but there's a renewed emphasis on bringing back the blues after last year's electro-heavy program.

The parole officer for Jason Ricci will not let the musician travel to Kalamazoo, causing the bluesman to cancel tonight's concert at the Kalamazoo State Theatre, the kick off of the WRKR-FM Budweiser Blues Series .
