CD reviews: Vibe players opts for tough, not mellow
Mike Mainieri-Marnix Busstra Quartet "Twelve Pieces" is just that, but if the album were totally honest it would be called "Twelve Clever Pieces." Vibes quartets often take on a smoke-filled nightclub sound, but this one stays far from that with Mainieri's forceful approach.
