A major player throughout the post-grunge boom of the late '90s, Lit featured the combined talents of frontman A. Jay Popoff, his guitar-playing brother Jeremy, bassist Kevin Baldes, and drummer Allen Shellenberger.

His name - Colt Ford - certainly sounds country. His last album, in 2008, was titled "Ride Through the Country." He sang on "Roll with Me" with Montgomery Gentry and "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" with Joe Nichols and did the song "Buck 'Em" for the Professional Bull Riders Association.

Lit drummer Allen Shellenberger died late last week after a struggle against brain cancer.

He was 39. After receiving the diagnosis of a malignant glioma brain tumor in May 2008, Shellenberger immediately underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatments, as well as clinical trials at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute.
