John Cleese sparks Twitter row after he shares CA wildfires joke
The Monty Python star branded a joke made by some residents of Paradise in California - close to where 48 people have died in wildfires - 'magnificent' Cleese, 79, shared the dark humour gag on Twitter, saying diners from the stricken town had requested their food 'flambeed' in a Sacramento restaurant Many who saw the joke said the veteran actor shouldn't have shared it while the fires are still raging in the US state and thousands remain homeless Cleese defended it, saying: 'But it was their joke, and they were the ones who had suffered. That's what makes it magnificent.'
