At the Jeanne Rimsky Theatre on Saturday, an audience waiting for the start of Americana crooner Kathy Mattea's show gazed upon a handsome lineup of nine stringed instruments - several guitars, a standup bass, a wired violin, mandolin and a bouzouki.

Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Kathy Mattea performed an accapella version of "In The Cool of The Day." The song was written by none other than folk singer Jean Ritchie, who for many years called Port Washington home.

Two-time Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year Kathy Mattea will make her Center for the Performing Arts debut in a concert focused on music from her Appalachian folk music album "Calling Me Home." The West Virginia native will perform at 7:30 p.m. Feb.
