Just STOP it already, please! Enough is enough. Yes, the Berkshires worship the washed-up, the aged and way-past-their-prime (if they ever had one to begin with)! We get it, but will all this "Taylor-Love" be printed when Mr. Taylor sneezes at Guido's or gets spotted at Spice?

WHO CARES about his wife that works for BSO......who cares about any of it!

Buy my CD!

Your protest rant won't change the fact that tens of thousands of people will come to the Berkshires to enjoy JT's performances at Tanglewood. They will eat in our restaurants, shop in our stores, stay in our hotels, inns, B&Bs. The dollars will then be recycled throughout the local economy in the form of wages paid to the employees of those establishments and taxes paid to the state. This stimulates further spending. Try to look beyond your own silly prejudices and realize this is unambiguously a good thing for the Berkshires.

Yet another article reminding everyone about James Taylor's weekend of concerts.
Incidentally, reporter Tony Dobrowolski states:
"The BSO has usually completed its summer program at Tanglewood by now, and parents aren't traveling because they're children are getting ready to go back to school."
Parents are children?

Go JT!!! Hopefully Tanglewood or some other venue will realize if you bring in good national bands people will come to the area to listen and possibly stay and enjoy our area.

look back to the 70's and 80's when a variety of shows drew large crouds, look beyond BSO, JT and the other boring no draw shows.
the venue used to be a destination for other than the elite local berkshire snob crowd, others have spending power too !

Tanglewood had its heyday and some great popular artist series back in the 70's, and then the snobby Lenox residents complained because there were too many people on their lawns and traffic was too bad. But NOW they can deal with it for James Taylor. Get a life! Die Yuppie Scum

It's really too bad that people have to rely on mega pop star James Taylor to introduce them to Tanglewood, which is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Tanglewood should NOT become a pop music arena. Perhaps if more people would simply listen to the classical music for all of its beauty and subtleties, they would realize how stupid they were for spending money to support Brittney Spears, Michael Jackson, James Taylor, Paula Abdul, Journey, etc. for all their mass-marketed relatively unimaginative garbage. For all of you who want to hear pop music, go to Hartford, The Egg in Albany, or the Garden in Boston. Please stop trying to denigrate Tanglewood with popular music!

GOOD NATIONAL BANDS and James Taylor in the same sentence? When is boring soft rock good? And if you say 60 thousand tickets were sold it's because people believe the hype and don't know any better.

Just another ripe time for local hotel owners to gouge room rates. Oh, you need a 3 day minimum,J.taylor is at Tangiewood. Don't try and stay in Berkshires one night during the summer.

LOL....well look at all the cry babies we have here ,if you don't like it don't come .If this is what they want to do then let them.I see the anti Lenox people are here too.....makes me laugh everytime one of you guys comes on here and bitchs about them the jealousy is amazing.I like Tanglewood as is and if they can make it work like they do so what.If the BSO can make it work and not sell out to LIVE ONE.....which is what is running every other areana or venue out there....then fine.

Yup we do and if I wanted that other crap I'd stay home and get in my backyard but I travel to Stockbridge and Lenox and Lee to see the BSO and their guest .....John Williams always brought in the(and still does) maximum crowds at Tanglewood.

Tanglewood definitely fuels the local economy,no argument there!
While I despise James Taylor,I would not deny the local economy the benefits it reaps from his appearances!
The benefits far outweigh personal prefferences, the benefits of more performances of other musical venues would also add monies to local coffers!
Elitist attitudes subtract from the locals bottom line!

That James Taylor is the biggest star at T'wood just shows ta go ya how the Berkshires are for old people. Nothing against JT but dang he is an old guy who was most famous 30-40 years ago.

Back in those days people in their 20s and 30s got to see their generation's top bands at t'wood. Now these same people are old and they freak out if anybody suggests a modern-day top band play at their sacred T'wood.

We'll only get top acts back into T'wood when the Lexus and Mercedes crowd dies out. Which will be soon, just gotta wait 'em out!!!

Why are there so many on these forums who seem to oppose anything which would bring financial prosperity to the area?

What a nice, inter-generational message of peace and understanding. May you become more tolerant as you mature. In the meantime, learn to clean up after yourselves - I am tired of doing it for you, piglet.
