Taylor is over rated. Not a fan. Plenty of other choices out there.

I have always enjoyed listening to James Taylor's music. He is a gifted writer and entertainer.

he's an awesome performer, and a generous and kind man. The negative posters are self hating idiots who are ashamed of their region. We don't need them.

i love the notion that anybody who dares to express the least amount of disdain for the incessant worship of jt by the eagle is somehow a "self hating idiot". apparently if you live in the berkshires you are required to genuflect for jt even though his shows are boring and he hasn't made a good album since the jimmy carter administration.

isn't it great that we live in a country where we can all express our opinions freely, no matter how wrong we are? You didn't like 2002's October Road?

i was dragged to one of his one man band shows, fould the performance to be lackluster at best and was part of the people leaving early to beat traffic. i recognize that he was a talented musician, just not my cup of tea at all and his skills have been dimishing for years. his recent covers album hears evidence to the well running dry. Also i think he's a bit of a phoney baloney with all his shower the people you love with love malarky. But its a free country and i certainly hope that everybody who is still interested - tunes in and enjoys the leno show.

thanks, and I should have been more respectful earlier. If you have seen previous James Taylor threads on here, you'd see that there are often a bunch of "hate Massachusetts, hate the Berkshires, hate the liberals, hate James Taylor" wackos who post and I thought this one was heading that way.

THANK YOU! For a long time I thought I was the only one in the county who didn't share Alan Chartock's a** kissing hero worship of this stale and whiny never was.

Too bad the former Austen Riggs 'graduate' couldn't spare some of this touchy-feely good will for a USO tour for U.S. troops overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq -- but of course that would be too much to ask of the self-absorbed Berkshire Troubadour.

You say he gives millions to charity but somehow James can't see clear to spare a moment of his oh-so-valuable time to volunteer on a U.S.O. tour to play for U.S. troops overseas.
Taylor is just one more self-absorbed, over-pampered, Liberal media darling who's one manic-depressive misstep away from his next drug binge (Heroin in Taylor's case).
If he had any self-respect, he would long ago have lent his time to the U.S.O..

We have enough issues with whether or not people are being tortured in this hemisphere, and now you want to start torturing our troops?

Heller, I never actually pegged you as anti-American, but now with this suggestion of sending James Taylor to "entertain" our troops I think I will have to re-evaluate that position.

Taylor's music is not in high demand with the younger crowd in the military, they try to book acts for the troops that are age appropriate. Taylor is a fine humanitarian and a really nice guy. GOd blaees our troops and God bless James Taylor, and God bless you too Mr. Heller.

Are you implying that Taylor's music is for former yuppie/soon-to-be senior set?
