The most animated act grabs the spotlight at a metal mash. It's telling that the most orthodox act on one of the season's most anticipated metal package tours was the one composed of cartoon characters.

C'mon, how can you pass up the chance to see an Adult Swim-sponsored death metal band? Especially one with tunes like "Briefcase Full of Guts" and "Birthday Dethday"? Fronted by Brendan Smalls , the virtual band from Adult Swim's "Metalocalypse" becomes flesh and blood once again to tour the States.

Oakland, California sludge metal trio HIGH ON FIRE has been added to the Australian tour featuring LAMB OF GOD , DEVILDRIVER and SHADOWS FALL .

Seizure-generating lights and effects? Check. Inaudible screaming? Check. No doubt about it, there was a metal show happening Monday at the Pan American Center as the Adult Swim Presents Dethklok and Mastadon Tour stopped by for a visit.

Out of the four bands playing tonight's big "Adult Swim Presents" tour, Converge sticks out like a shard of bloody glass embedded in your foot.

If you were to tell any random music fan on the street that a tour with the four bands on the "Adult Swim Presents" would be happening, they would say "Oh sure, fuck it.

Hailed as one of the most brutal and face-melting shows of the year, the Adult Swim tour featuring metal bands Dethklok, Mastodon, Converge and High on Fire may sound a little extreme to the uninitiated.

There are a ton of combinations that seem awkward when put together: peanut butter and tuna fish; chocolate and scrambled eggs; Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson.
