Hypocrisy

Full story: Record-Bee

The following is a quote from former United States Secretary of State and Nobel Prize winner Henry Kissinger: "Military men are just dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy." It is an excerpt from the book "Kiss The Boys Goodbye" subtitled "How the United States Betrayed Its Own Vietnam POWs," written by Monika Jenson Stevenson ...

I find it very difficult to believe that a man as erudite and patriotic as Dr. Kissinger would see military service and patriotism in those terms, much less say such a thing in public. It has been my experience that public people quickly learn not to say anything so volatile, inflammatory and evil. I have also learned that a lot of the leftist "historians" writings, reportings and recollections have not been accurate and are often revisionistic in the extreme. Therefore, I discount and deny this assertion in the name of a man who cannot here defend himself and has very likely been misquoted for inflammatory purposes.

I also want to note that while this paper will never again publish any of my writings, many of which can be seen at http://adrianvance.blogspott.com they will run stuff like this which every journalist knows should be source confirmed and fact-checked before publication, but they will never take the time. Then, having insulted 40% of their market with the remainder increasingly wondering if anything they read here can be true; also wonder why their circulation is dropping. I could increase the circulation of this rag by a large factor with a few simple changes and policies. I take no satisfaction in seeing newspapers and magazines die, but do know why.

what this ghoul said is not as important as what he did, it is NOT debateable that Dr K signed-off on the invasion of east Timor (resulting in well over 100,000 civilian deaths caused by the Indoneasian army using American supplied weapons), and he also gave a great deal of support to mass murderer Pinochet in Chile, even though he was fully aware of the fact that Pinchet was torturing and murdering his own civilians by the thousands in his concentration camps.

then you can add-in his approval of illegal wars in Laos and Cambodia, the American bombing of the latter led to the rise of the Pol Pot regime, which in turn led to the murder of two million cambodians. To cap it all off the CIA told him they KNEW at least around 200 American POWs were still in Laotion/Cambodian prisons when we left, he said they were expendable and wouldn't waste time bargining for their release.

Dr K is a filthy, blood-covered coward, he should spend the rest of his miserable life in a prison cell for his involvement in war crimes around the world, instead he gives lectures-to the great shame of America.

When you sign on the dotted line to "protect and defend ...... against all enemies ..... foreign and domestic" you know you are expendable.
That's the cold hard facts of the matter.

My but I certainly did not have to wait long for our leading revisionist to come along and make unfounded, unsubstantiated, erratic in the extreme charges on a man who many consider a patriot even greater than your average, run-of-mill pear farmer.

A few verifiable citations are not only in order, but should be required, Phil.

days before Dr.K met with Pinochet he was given a CIA report that described the concentration camps being filled with political prisoners, Dr. K KNEW Pinochet was torturing and murdering his own people yet he was given even more support by the same people (America) that helped him overthrow the democraticly elected government of Chile. WE put a dictator in place who conducted a program of mass-murder, and we kept him in power.
Dr.K and president Ford left Indoneasia a few hours before the invasion of east Timor, after meeting with the dictator Suharto (sp?) and asking that he only wait until air force 1 had left their airspace to begin the attack. This is well-documented, as is the FACT that Dr. K abandoned american POWs in southeast asia.

On a lighter note I'll pass this on from norton.

Howdy Friends and Neighbors!
I thought I'd send off a little update on what I'm up to these days. I hope this note finds you well and surviving through these challenging times. I keep thinking of the old Johnny Mercer and Harold Arlen tune:

Accentuate the Positive,
Eliminate the Negative
Latch on to the Affirmative
Don't mess with Mr. in Between!!!!

You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium's
Liable to walk upon the scene
Mighty Fine words to go by!!

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Cancer

Discussions and meetings go really well today because you're finding it easy to put your thoughts into words. You'll also show that you respect other people's viewpoints even if they don't coincide with your own. It's a good day for making domestic plans, and some of these will be quite ambitious without being unrealistic or far-fetched.
