Total taxpayer tab for Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rouge: $607,000
Taxpayers provided more than $607,000 to bring Bayou Country Superfest and country performers like George Strait, Reba McEntire and Chris Young to Baton Rouge this year. The figure includes $200,000 in the state budget, earmarked by the legislature, and a $200,000 sponsorship from Visit Baton Rouge, which is funded by hotel occupancy taxes.
