8 p.m. Sun., Sept. 7, Exit/In (2208 Elliston Place, 321-3340), $12 Celebrated jam-band drummer Stanton Moore's trio strips a lot of the hip-hop-flavored funk of his more famous group, Galactic, in favor of more straightforward jazz/funk grooves that let him take center stage to flex his polyrhythmic muscle. The trio's traditionally minded tunes might not be as hip or stylistically ear-grabbing as Galactic's, but they'll provide a display of prowess that no local rhythm geeks should pass up. With that in mind, Moore is also hosting a pre-show drum clinic at Exit/In at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free with a ticket to the concert, $5 at the door otherwise. - D.P.
