Absolutely, we could call it the Kennedy Bill, and prevent families with wealth from buying their seats at the expense of the country.

Why is president getting too much power any different from person in Senate or Congress? Should be term limits for all.

Bravo Amy!

What a 'tard Amy is. She has no idea how complex government is, and how you need committed, intelligent, and experienced elected officials to run it.
By the way, Amy the simpleton doesn't realize that we already have term limits. We call them "elections." |

Yes, we have elections but due to the ridiculous cost of running an election and the money that special interest groups contribute to incumbents it is almost impossible for an average joe to run and win. I'd love to see some group take up the cause of term limits!

Yes it is too bad it has come to this. The requirements to be a representative are intentionally quite simple (age, citizenship, etc.) as stated in the Admendments to the Constitution. They were made simple so our goverment would be a citizen's governnment. It is true Mr. Smith no longer goes to Washington and that is a shame. We now have only fat cat attorneys who manipulate the system and get payoffs from wealthy interests to maintain their poltical careers. Politics in Amercia should not be a career but a service given during ones career. |

here we go again elections are not term limits. you are too funny thanks for making me laugh |

George Washington did not run for re-election in 1800 because he died in 1799, but I get your point and feel your frustration.

People seem to miss the fact that term limits reduce the power of voters to decide what they want.
The 22nd amendment does make sense because the President has such exceptional power but the arguments for Presidential limits make no sense for any other office. There simply is not such exceptional power in those offices to support a belief that voters could not simply vote someone out of office they didn't like. Term limits for senators and representatives is especially foolish if other states are not doing the same thing. Our Senators become more powerful to the states benefit with seniority. The Federal government cannot impose such rules on states and so, Term Limits for congress persons would be political and therefore economic suicide for a state. |

You can't be describing our politicians. They are only committed to themselves and special interests. Their intelligence is from manipulating the voters. |

Maybe someone should ask Marty Meehan about term limits when he decides to run for the Senate. See if he lies to us again.
