This news is very heartening and just goes to show the impact Elvis Presley has had on the world even the non-English speaking parts.

The fine statue of a 1956 Elvis in Tokyo is proof enough of his popularity there, not to mention the excellent Elvis Japan website.

Tupelo's citizens will not miss the message in their local newspaper. Gear up for an invasion, a very friendly one! Thousands of Elvis Presley fans.

I was in Tupelo a few years back with my Elvis
friends. There's a church right next door to the
house. And is landscaped in stone and flowers as
a touching memorial to Elvis. It was a wonderful
place to visit. There is a round stone circle
around the house that has every year Elvis was
alive in different sections in the walk.
