Elvis Presley teams up with The Beatles - Liverpool Echo.co.uk

ELVIS Presley is to team up with The Beatles in Liverpool. The Beatles Story, based at the Albert Dock, has turned to The King - a major influence on the Fab Four - to ensure its expansion is marked in style.

I always admired Elvis's embossed leather guitar case.

John Lennon, a very mixed up charachter (Like us all)was always very fond of Elvis's ability to ignite certain Rock n Roll songs and make them his own forever!

this will Probably be like the Elvis Story that was produced in Quebec city , then came to Gaitneau near Ottawa . Starred for the first 10 years of the show martin Fontaine (canadian guy) did a pretty good job but was wearing alot of makeup and his voice was not that close to Elvis , then came jamie aaron Kelley from Iowa usa, he was more natural and his voice is pretty good . was kind of a broadway play about elvis's life from his humble beginning to the end for younger and even older fans teaches what Elvis was all about . Hope the Beatles story will be same . i'm a big fan of John Lennon and the beatles !!wish i could see it

Thanks for the info and links guitarplayer.
Let me put it this way.
I like piano music a lot. But not all pianos are Steinway grands.:-)
Nevertheless, Jamie Kelley is a nice guy he was on the FECC Forum for a time.

was not saying they were the exact replica of elvis they gave a feel of what Elvis Presley was all about and his music cause it was not only some singing and dancing but there was a narrator explaining the carreer of elvis kind of a Walk the line for J.Cash but on a broadway level like Phoanix he was no Johnny cash , he is a shorty like 5'8" johnny is 6'1" .But du to that movie I went out and started to listen to Johnny cash alot more !!

Jamie I met him 2 times , nice guy maybe thinks he is Elvis a little bit to much kindda cheezy

but is nice to listen at !!

Martin met him in person as well had a chat with him after the show , another shorty maybe 5'7" wear lifts on stage. he has his own show called "boogy night " disco music ( yark!!!)

I also saw a group here in canada called Beatle mania , dressed up just like the beatles and holy they sounded good !! beatles are a hard group to immitate but they did a great job , wiggled there heads like they use to do was pretty cool !!

Jamie is coming back in Toronto to do the "heart and soul of rock'n roll show " in august he is a good intertaner live but like i said since Elvis story has trouble getting out of the role and can be annoying . He is no elvis , but rarely see young guy like that have so much knowledge about Elvis !!! not only his life but record deals , cuts of certain songs , time and place ! real dictionary .

guitarplayer, I get your drift and agree, anything that brings people to great music By Elvis or The Beatles cannot be bad.

I too enjoy John Lennon's best stuff. We ALSO have a Beatles band here in Ireland. Young guys doing their best.

I was born in 1942.:-)

So when Bill Haley arrived in the movie "Rock Around the Clock" (In Ireland before the UK)I was 14. We went to see it over and over again.

It was almost banned in the UK and did not open till months later, than in Ireland.
Cinemas were damaged by some rowdies but the vast majority of us were there for the music. Very exciting times as the slightly older generation started to mock Rock 'n' Roll. Their heroes were totally eclipsed by Elvis.

I used to teach 3 yr. olds to 3rd grade and most of them knew the oldies.(One day one of the 5 yr. olds came in and said "did you know Paul McCartney was in another band before he was in "Wings"?) I also work out w/many other women and I noticed when they play the current songs (BOOM BOOM) people look bored and don't seem to be enjoying themselves,(I know I'm not happy and they don't look any better). When the oldies come on people pick up the pace, have smiles on their faces and they look like they are having fun. I think people actually prefer songs with melody, rhyme, harmony, etc.(Including the younger people. They just do not want to admit it). If someone were doing good music I think people would appreciate it. Mariah and Madonna aren't doing BOOM BOOM, are they?(I don't really listen to either of them). I don't think people want to hear rehashes of the oldies but I think if smart people were writing and singing new songs that were REALLY as good as the oldies, and if they were actually putting forth the effort to do a TERRIFIC job like they did in the fifties, sixties, people would enjoy that music and there would be a rewarding market for that music. Much of the stuff today to me sounds like they are making it up as they go along and this has been going on for a long time.

Everytime you praise how good the music of yesteryears lot of people will immediately say it is because of your age and you can not relate yourself with the kind of music today. Only big hypocrites will disagree that we used to have better music before compared to the kind of music today with no direction, attitude and sense. Most of the music today totally distort the real essence and meaning of music. They just popped in and go with limited impact and meaning. Rock and roll music is timeless and will always be around. Basic and standard music will always reign supreme because they truly epitomized what music is all about and rock and roll music is very much part of it. Now we know why Elvis never left the bulding.

There's some really good bands out there today like the Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, Coldplay, Killers, Green Day, Oasis,Arctic Monkeys all are great live bands and when she's not having problems Amy Whinehouse is a throw back to when music was good. Franz Ferdinand are also a great band from Scotland along Foo Fighters. We have some really great music today in the UK.

"Killers"? EEEEEYEEEEWWW!!! Sorry, but I just don't like the sound of that one. But I stopped listening to music years ago, like I said when it started sounding like they made it up as they went along. I remember a song years ago, I honestly thought it was a joke called (was it?) "Passionate Kisses"? "My lover and I share passionate kisses"? Honestly, I thought that song was a JOKE. But NOOOOOO. It's stupid and sounds like she made it up as she went along. And by far not the stupidest one ever.
