Kudos to Lisa. She DESERVED that apology and more! It is impossible to take bad publicity once it is out there, but an apology is certainly better than nothing.

Couldn't she just ONCE do the same thing for her father?

Really if they hadn't apologized, I don't think she could have won anything in court. I wish they had not backed down.

The comments section on the Lisa Marie Presley Apology story registerd no comments, although I had pointed out that the media Vultures had been gorging themselves on Elvis Presley and his fans for many decades.

The comment was not used, but it was read!

Well done Lisa Marie...the press and the tabolids...honestly..one would think there is more important news to be told, then what your eating habits are....Anyways....pregnant or not...you eat what you want !!
Lisa has endured years and years of press.....leave the women alone!!

If you read the comments the insults were not really directed at LMP but more to her father and his eating habits. I agree it's lame news but if you choose to live in the public eye you can't pick and choose you're own news. LMP will always be news soley because of who her father was, she knows that and so do the media thats why she got a recording contract and the media get their stories. If Elvis wasn't her father and wasn't the icon he was she wouldn't even register on the 'C' list of celebs

To those of you who claim that she loves her father, doesn't is strike you as strange that she would NEVER sue for him, but she sues someone who claims that she ACTS like her father.
There is no love for Elvis in this woman.

"Presley's lawyers sued for libel, and on Friday the newspaper printed an apology: "On March 4 we published a photograph of Lisa Marie Presley while she was dining with friends. We suggested she might have an unhealthy appetite similar to her late father. We now accept that the suggestion is untrue and apologize to Ms. Presley for any distress caused."
You would have thought she could have gone a little further and asked they aplogise for insulting her father instead of it just being about her, she may look like her father but she sure is her mothers daughter when it comes to me me me me me me me

I do believe an apology was in order for both Presleys. I have never been a fan of Lisa's. Mostly I just don't care one way or another about Lisa's life... except I give some sympathy in that it is no wonder her head seems so screwed up with the way she has been raised. Spoiled early on, and then tossed aside to boarding schools when Lisa was in the way of mama's social life. No wonder Lisa rebelled so much and had years of being foul mouthed.

If Lisa does seem her mother's daughter it is understandable since her mother has had controlling interest ;) for a very very long time.

All Lisa really seems to appreciates about her father at this point is that is where the family's bread is buttered. I am not saying she doesn't have feelings for Elvis...as she must have some...but it sure seems mom has tried to squash most of those with the way Priscilla has talked about her X publicly...It could only be even worse in private.

I'm sure it goes something like, "Oh, honey, your father was a good and talented man, but he had faults" and then the long list of things that she claims Elvis did wrong.

"Daily Mail Humbled by Lisa Marie Presley". With her money, she could have humbled the press a long time ago for their abuse of Elvis but she would not and won't, because she doesn't care enough.

Now we have access to the World media we are making sure we have our say......well some of us are.

Maurice it's all according who your a fan off really, personally I'm an Elvis fan and see no reason why I then have to like his entire family because of it. LMP has many times allowed the media, the imps and her mother to reduce Elvis to the cartoon character you see before you today. Elvis has no respect in the music world, fans are ridiculed and listed as 'anoraks' or 'freaks' when we come to his defense and when any one talks about great musical icons Elvis fans have to fight every step of the way for Elvis to be included. Like I said I'm not a fan of Cilla or LMP their where they are due to being married to Elvis and being fathered by Elvis no other reason but instead of LMP rejoicing and claiming her fathers righful place in the music world she sue's a newspaper because she had to share her baby secret a few days early or be seen as some one who eats. There are loads of unflattering photographs of LMP out there especially when she was a drug addict but she didn't sue then wonder why? Who said to be an Elvis fan we have to like his extended family, I do enough by keeping them in the style they've become accustomed to with out having to like them as well.

Considering the circumstances, Maurice, I think he might like to thump her on the head himself. I know Elvis, in his worst nightmare, would never dream he would be dragged through the mud continuously for thirty years after his death. And worse, his nightmare could never include that the only person who could sue for him, his only child, never would do so.

Elvis was lambasted early in his career. He did nothing about it knowing he would just be inviting more of the same.

I'm pretty indifferent to Priscilla and Lisa Marie.

When I read comments supporting Elvis in the press and on the open web from Elvis fans like Brian Quinn and Jim Burrows I admire them for actually making a stand.

The Elvis I admire has nothing to do with the tabloid coverage he gets.

Only insecure Elvis fans would be bothered about what the liars say about Elvis.........especially when they themselves know the truth.........well most of it!

Elvis is admired by a great many people who matter in the world of popular music. NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING, or no one can undermine his place at the top!!!

Am I, a fan of Elvis for more than 50 years be bothered what some teenagers or reporters in their ignorance say about him? A Rhetorical question of course.
