Henry Louis Gates Jr. on O.J., Reconsidered

Full story: New Republic

I believe that this was a revenge sentence on a man most unfairly believed was guilty of a murder of his ex-wife and her boyfriend. As a soldier, and one who has seen combat multiple time, I know that it would have been impossible for O.J. to 1) kill 2 people by himself, 2)to have done so without making a huge amount of noise and alerting everyone in the surrounding area and 3) not having a huge amount of blood, sweat and hair on him, in his vehicle and in his house, which was only found, in minute particles after the fact, by the police. O.J. was set up for this crime by the Las Vegas Police and railroaded to his prison term by a rouge prosecutor and a vengeful Judge, why? The property in question was obviously his and all he obviously wanted to do was to retrieve his stollen property, same as anyone in this country. His conviction should cause big worry to everyone in this country. Because, if you ever try and retrieve property that was stollen from you, you may be sent to jail for 15 to 33 years

Wasn't the property in question supposed to go to the Goldman's as restitution? So how was it still Simpson's property? A jury found him not guilty of murder, but in Nevada he was found guilty of several offenses. If he has all the money to travel to Las Vegas, he certainly had money to pay the legal judgment against him! You do not have to agree with a verdict, but you do have to abide by the outcome. A civil judgment is as binding as a criminal finding. This man seems to act above the law, no wonder he assumed he could take property that he wanted.

Soldier, Nicole had blood all over her, except the bottom of her feet, which means she was on the ground either knocked out or already dead before OJ started butchering Goldman. Who would have a chance fighting off a raged 6'2 200 lb. man with a huge knife? Not Nicole...Goldman didn't have a chance either! Once you stab someone and they go to the ground and slit their throat they aren't going to scream or fight back hard. I think he was going to scare Nicole real bad and Goldman walked up and things got out of hand.
