A car show to benefit the Adopt A Soldier program will be held in downtown Newnan on Nov.

BAY ST. LOUIS, Mississippi -- -- Chubby Checker will be performing live in concert at 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, November 20th & 21st at Hollywood Casino Bay St.

Asked in a recent interview if he ever got sick of being asked to dance or perform the twist over the years, Checker laughed.

Chubby Checker has chosen historic downtown Newnan as his Georgia location to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of the legendary song "The Twist." The historic Alamo Theater building, now a restaurant-entertainment venue, will be the host of the famous singer and his band the Wildcats on Nov.

He just celebrated his 68th birthday this past Saturday, but rock 'n' roll legend Chubby Checker remains active and outspoken.
